How do I become a member?

Please send us an application for membership (for the attention of Claudio Valentino) containing the following information and attachments:

A brief description of your company's field of activity
Number of employees in Switzerland

Attachments

A recent extract from the Commercial Register (a copy is sufficient)
Response form for the Membernet Coordinator in your company
Response form for the Responsible Care Coordinator
Signed declaration of commitment to the Responsible Care programme (Information on Responsible Care)

The quarterly newsletter provides updates on scienceindustries’ positions regarding key economic policy, social and internal association matters.

scienceindustries Compensation Fund

The scienceindustries Compensation Fund is your partner for the cost-effective administration of compulsory social insurance schemes (AHV, IV, EO, ALV, maternity allowance and family allowances).

Intercantonal Family Allowance Fund

Thanks to the association’s own Family Allowance Fund, scienceindustries member companies with sites in several cantons can manage the varying cantonal family allowance legislation through a single point of contact, rather than dealing with numerous cantonal funds.

Extensive Expertise
The fund has extensive experience even with complex and rare issues, which directly benefits you as a member. Particularly in the area of international staff deployment, the fund is a leading provider due to the global focus of many of our member companies.

Cost-effective
It is the stated policy of the scienceindustries Family Allowance Fund to be more cost-effective than the respective cantonal funds everywhere, thanks to its streamlined administration.

Important
You may generally join this fund on a voluntary basis; however, a transfer to the scienceindustries Family Allowance Fund is mandatory if your company currently settles accounts with a cantonal fund.

SimplyScience

By becoming a member of scienceindustries, you support the SimplyScience Foundation (website available in German/French/Italian).

The SimplyScience Foundation is an initiative of scienceindustries and aims to promote young people’s understanding of scientific and technical issues, whilst also providing them with guidance on potential training and career opportunities. To this end, it integrates and links existing initiatives from industry, schools, universities, associations and other organisations.

SimplyScience.ch is supported by the Federal Department of Economic Affairs (EVD) and forms part of the ‘Promoting Young Talent in Science, Mathematics and Technology (NMT)’ initiative.

Obligations of membership

All member companies commit themselves to comply with the following agreement:

Responsible Care Programme on principles relating to safety, health and environmental protection.

Membership fees

Membership fees according to Art. 5 of the bylaws

Basic contribution: CHF 1'000.--
Fee for each employee in Switzerland: CHF 20.--
Contribution calculated on the basis of the wage bill (AHV): approx. 0.5‰
The exact amount is based on the financial requirements of scienceindustries and will be calculated anew every year
Minimum contribution: CHF 2'500.--
